Dear TVEC families,

I want to thank all of you for making our 2017 Jump Rope for Heart event such a memorable experience. The best part of the event is watching our students work together, try their best, and have fun! All of our students enjoyed 30 minutes of jump rope activities and dances in the gym. They also attended a heart trivia activity in the library with Mrs. Dombach.  I am extremely proud to announce that our community raised about $13,000 for the American Heart Association! A special thank you to all of our parent volunteers and teachers who helped make Jump Rope for Heart a fun day for everyone!

Art, Music, Physical Education and Library Classes support and enhance our elementary curriculum.  At various times throughout the year, special events occur within these areas.  Two of these events will be held in February:  Jump Rope For Heart and Listen, Move, and Create.  Jump Rope For Heart is a program sponsored by the American Heart Association.  Our Physical Education teacher, Miss McHugh, is planning and organizing TVEC's participation.  This event will be held on Friday, February 12.  All classes will be jumping rope and playing a heart trivia game during the morning. From now until the event, all students have the opportunity to raise money for the American Heart Association.  Last year TVEC students raised over $15,000!

All students will be participating in Listen and Move, a program designed by our music and physical education teachers.  This will be held over 12 school days during the students' special time.  Students will be incorporating movement and music during these classes.  You will be informed of the exact dates since students will need to wear sneakers each day.
