As we usher in the new year, it's the perfect time to reflect on all we've accomplished. Amid the hustle of busy hallways and the excitement of events, we can't help but celebrate the incredible achievements of our Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) members this past year. From earning 'Stop the Bleed' certification at St. Joe’s Medical Center to hosting blood drives that support our local healthcare community, our students have been gaining invaluable experience to help shape their future careers. They've also had the privilege of learning from a variety of guest speakers, sharing hygiene tips with elementary and middle school students, and even shining a spotlight on the importance of organ donation—thanks to HOSA Club President Meredith Kiser, who spoke at a Driver’s Education class on the subject. Thank you to our dedicated HOSA team Officers for their inspiring work and leadership. We can’t wait to see what this year holds! #FeatureFriday: Twin Valley Middle School’s 8th grade ‘Leadership and You’ class took the lead in organizing Great Kindness Week from January 13th to 17th. Students from over 115 countries joined forces to spread kindness, and this year, TVMS was determined to make an impact with a goal of completing over 10,000 acts of kindness throughout the week. From small, everyday acts of generosity to surprise moments of kindness, our students truly embraced the spirit of giving. Teachers were on the lookout for those moments, handing out Kindness Coins to students “caught” spreading joy. These coins weren’t just for fun—they helped students earn prizes and contributed to the race for the title of ‘Kindest Class’ at TVMS! Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Leadership and You students, we’re one step closer to making the world a kinder place. To date, over 1 billion acts of kindness have been completed worldwide during Kindness Weeks, and we’re proud to have contributed to that incredible total. Way to go!

Each year, the Berks County Intermediate Unit hosts a Student Artwork Showcase in celebration of School Director Recognition Month. Every Berks County school district contributes an original art piece created by a high school student, which is displayed year-round in the BCIU Board Room. This year, Twin Valley High School student Kai Couch had the honor of representing our school district. The 2025 Showcase theme was, 'What do you see when you look out your window? Reflections on your school district.' Kai shares, "I chose to highlight three areas of my creative life where I feel I can flourish freely, thanks to the opportunities within our school’s diverse communities. I’m passionate about art, music, and the wide range of academic possibilities we’re given the freedom to explore."
